This announcement is very encouraging. I noted that it was a press release from a company that stands to make money if this drug works, so I wish they had linked to some study showing the drug is effective.

Also, I already have cirrhosis, not just fibrosis. Something that breaks down scar tissue and allows its replacement with normal tissue would be very helpful to me, but this press release doesn't say whether the drug does that or not. Instead, it just seems to say the drug slows down the process of fibrosis.
