Is it all in my mind

Can you feel/see your fatty liver. I swear my right side seems slightly larger than my left and my waist line bulges out a little instead of curving in on my right hand side. But my dr says it's probably all in my mind.

Holey smokes yes! It is common for a liver in distress to become enlarged. Docs will often feel your belly to find out how far below the ribs it has expanded to. Some old time docs diagnosed cirrhosis that way.

Go see a specialist. General Practitioners are so busy and don’t know enough about liver disorders. Good luck. I hope you don’t have fatty liver, but if you do I hope you heal fast.

Exact same thing here!! I feel like the doctors don't see it because it makes their diagnosis not as cut & dry and might need an explanation that they just can't give. Instead of having faith and working with the health care professionals, I am constantly patted on the head and told "I'm not sure what's going on -- see you in 3 months." It is so frustrating ehen your concerns aren't being addressed, you feel that they aren't "listening" or ignore your questions, or are left confused because they keep changing their mind or treatment without discussing it with you.

It's NOT on your head!!

YEP, the liver can expand & be uncomfortable, especially when you eat something the liver does not like. Are you seeing a doctor that is very knowledgeable about the liver & the type of disease you have ? This is important. I was finally diagnosed with non-alcoholic cirrhosis of the Liver...NASH. It took 4 years to FINALLY get the diagnosis. Only problem I had was the blood work. FINALLY, I ballooned out like I was 10 months pregnant & by this time 30% of my liver was working & I was Stage 4. Be aware of your body and the changes that will happen. Alot has happened since I first got diagnosed in October, 2017. Unlike others who have commented on this site regarding pain. I have had no pain. Just being uncomfortable when I have eaten something that the Liver HAS trouble digesting. Praying for you and all of us who have this disease. Hang in there !

Thanks for your comments and support everyone. The information on this site from everyone is so helpful. I'm waiting for my fibroscan on 6 June. In the meantime I'm following a very strict diet and I've taken up hiking. I've lost 3 kilo but probably could do with losing another 6.
