My father in law has fatty liver. Does it has any link on lowering platelet count?

Hi Niki, NASH often causes the platelet count to drop because blood is pushed toward the spleen which captures them. It is likely he has cirrhosis take him to a specialist and get tests. I HOPE I AM WRONG.

Yes my mothers doctor (blood dr.) spent alot of my mom's time and money assuming she had cancer because her blood platelets were so low and her.iron levels were so low they gave her 3 iron infusions. She passed away from non alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver a year later.
