Teenage boy with fatty liver

Hi. My 14 year old son was just diagnosed with fatty liver. His doctor doesn't seem too concerned. He has said to have him exercise more and eat right. (He is slightly over weight) Does anyone have more information as to eating plans? Also, how common this is for a teenager to be diagnosed?

Sadly it is becoming more and more common. There are some steps you must take now to protect his health. Fatty liver is reversible but liver cirrhosis is not. First off go to fattyliver.org. I’m not affiliated with them but I have received very good advise there. Very good. Would you like some tips on what he should eat and not eat or drink?

Yes. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. I dont feel like his doctor is not concerned enough, and am looking into getting him one that will help.

Some doctors do not take fatty liver disease very serious. Mine didn’t and my health as a result declined but I’m doing the right things to help my situation.

Here is what can happen. Not trying to scare you but I’m dealing with truth from experience. Know that you can make a difference NOW.

1.

Diagnosis:

Fatty Liver

2.

Little to no change

In ones diet.

3.

Little exercise and the

Person is not active.

4.

Person consumes high

Amount of bad fat.

4.5

Person consumes a lot

Of high fructose corn syrup.

Consumes a lot of sugar.

5.

Simple fatty liver begins

To progress to heavy

Fat infiltration of the liver.

6.

Later, or liver biopsy

Reveals fibrosis.

7.

Some years later scans

Reveal further damage

To the liver. Possible Cirrhosis.

7.5

Diagnosis of Cirrhosis

Requires several things.

MRI, Abdominal CT,

Liver biopsy, blood work,

Doctors clinical notes.

Again, not trying to scare you. My hope is that you and other people who either has been diagnosed with fatty liver, or knows someone who has, will take it very seriously. This is the reason I’m taking time for you from my busy day. I truly care about this issue.

I will be glad to share diet 411 with you later and continue to discuss this important matter. Right now my yard is calling me! 😂

Best,

Harrison

I’ve been told by three doctors liver cirrhosis can be reversed. I’m living proof. Doing so much better! Thank you!

I don’t have fatty liver, but Cirrhosis and had to change my diet. Lost lots of weight. No fast foods. Low salt, protein, breads, and no fried foods. Mainly fresh vegetables and fruits, seafood and salads with green vegetables (spinach). Low sweets intake. Good luck! Hope this helps a little! But every once in a while let him have what he wants. Can’t be perfect all the time.
