There are "experts" who argue for all of the many types of diet. The low carb vs high carb or low fat vs high fat supporters all argue for their views. How can you possibly make any sense of it? It is complex but knowing a few fundamental things can help. You probably know that the brain burns glucose but did you know the heart burns only fat? Here is a link that isn't a diet article but can start you on the road to understanding enough of the basics to evaluate some of the claims of people trying to sell you stuff.
How can you eat correctly when you do... - Living with Fatty...
How can you eat correctly when you don't know how digestion works? Everything goes through the liver, right? Suppose it isn't that simple.
Hi Wayne, thanks for the above link.
I hear so many many different things regards to diet especially cirrhosis and i am f4 end stage fibrosis now . I was told two different diets. One to keep the liver healthy and the other to feed the liver during latter stage..then i was under the impression to watch my fat intake.
I started to have low fat items only then to be told that this is worse aa any low fat item has an increase of sugar.
On my last visit to hepatologist in Nov 2017 that is when the fatty liver was diagnosed on top of my already 10 yrs of cirrhosis. So obviously they said high protein, high carbs low sugar yet high carbs have high sugar, or am i wrong.
I need to change my eating habits .3 yrs ago i weighed 2 stone lighter than i do now. I was told not to diet with any liver problem but putting on weight is just as bad as i am eating way too much rubbish. I will read the above link with interest and some inspiration. My next visit is in may .. will see what they say after my scan .

Follow through the information and read the part, "Let's all ride on the triglyceride" Doctors don't get much nutrition educations and there is a lot of disagreement. This information explains how things work and from that, you can consider diet from a fundamental perspective. If you want a shortcut, here is a link to our approach to diet.
