I thought that those with IBS ought to eat little and often so was surprised to see that it can be effective for some people with IBS. There's was something on tv about IBS and I was also surprised to learn that there are more nerve cells in our stomaches than our brain.
I thought that one reason those with IBS shouldn't fast was raised cortisol stress levels because of hunger but it looks like some people with IBS may well benefit so here's a link with the pro's and cons:
My IBS symptoms have been reduced so much since I started IF. I’m not sure if it’s the fasting or the carb reduction or a combination of both but the difference is amazing. I have a weekend off and it flares up again so I’m still sensitive but day to day life is much more manageable.
I suspect that might be a factor but haven’t played around with it fully yet. Just enjoying the respite from symptoms for the moment. I was tested for coeliac disease and was negative though.
