Waldo246 - at the risk of stating the obvious I'd suggest ceasing the oral meds, taking a couple of enemas over a 36 hour period, and reviewing both your diet and exercise regimen.

Also - have you already been tested for slow colon transit, or rectal area deficiencies, or both?

Hi, thanks for the reply, doctor advised changing the way I was taking the meds so if it doesn’t work I’ll ask for the enemas, I exercise, eat healthy, drink rarely, so live a healthy lifestyle, it’s something I’ve suffered with all my life but seems to be getting worse the older I’m getting, I’ve also got a redundant sigmoid so not sure if that contributes to it, but I’ll certainly ask the doctor about the tests you’ve suggested, thankyou

Dear Hidden , thanks for your post. We are a Children's Bowel and Bladder charity so aren't able to offer you support, however if you search adult constipation, you may well be able to find a group that can help. Best wishes, ERIC

Exercise and plenty fluids. Try natural fibre too. I now use flax seeds in childs cereal and it can go in gravy or yogurt. I just put it in their food. Not needed the movicol for months till we got her back monday from school. Not drinking enough so i had to push fluids and movicol again.
