My daughter has additional needs and at the age of 15 still will only poo in a pad . For the last month she has been severely constipated and gone off eating and having anxiety and not wanting to go to school. She is on Laxido and the last 2 days she’s seems to be clearing out but still not eating till late in the day.
So wondering if anyone else’s child has gone off their food when constipated and taking Laxido . I’m so worried about her loosing more weight as she’s already very thin . I have been to doctors seen dietitian and paediatric doctor. They just say once she’s cleared all out she will be ok.

Hi there, our daughter is 12 and also has additional needs. For the last 18 moths she has been using Peristeen, a colonic irrigation system. This has been excellent, clears her out and she has very few accidents. You could also try suppositories. You can buy them in the chemist. Good luck
Thanks so much for reply , my daughter would never let us near her to do that . Since having these problems her mood swings are terrible as well. She used to be so happy , it’s so sad to see her like this . School nurse is getting a meeting together with all professionals to try and help . It’s so hard when they can’t say how they are feeling . Glad what you are doing is working for your daughter 😊
Yes think it does , my worry is the sachets she’s taking are making her feel worse as she’s always has constipation but never gone off food so long . I’m hoping they will do an X-ray incase it’s something more . Odd thing is later in the day she does start eating . Thanks for reply
