Reducing macrogol

Hi has anyone successfully weaned a child off of macrogol? My son has been on a maintenance dose of 2 sachets of cosmocol for about 18 months. How do I go about reducing this. I don't want to rush it before he is ready and take a backwards step.

When you want to start reducing I suggest making up the usual dose and then literally taking a teaspoon out each week- first week one teaspoon, 2nd week 2 teaspoons etc. Two sachets is a low dose anyway so I would take it very slow.
