After having a drink of water my son has a pretty much constant wet patch despite changing up to 6 times in an hour after a drink. It doesn't even have to be a big drink.
I have just read the flowchart on ERIC site which says 'constant dribbling of urine is never functional '
Can anyone explain this statement please?

My understanding is if it is a functional issue that means there is no physiological or anatomical reason for it. Have you seen a medical specialist re the issue?
Oh ok, well son has finally been referred, but only to the paediatric continence service and will be a long wait. So we are considering going privately to see an actual urologist.
Yep we went down the private path too as couldn’t get accesss to services we needed through public system. It was well spent money to find out the issues and get us on the right treatment track. My daughter was the same in that she would dribble throughout the day, needed to take 6 changes of clothes everywhere we went! The issue for her was chronic UTI’s and constipation. We found putting a pad in her knickers made managing things a lot easier, more discreet and easier to change. Even though I was so sure she wasn’t constipated, x-ray confirmed it and getting this under control has been key to managing things.
What did the private urologist do differently and how quickly? We have been on the NHS treadmill for 3 years and not much further forward. We have overactive bladder here. Am seriously considering private.
I'm in NZ so situation might be different. There was no urologist service at our Hospital and it took 2 years and multiple referrals from our Gp to get a paediatrician appointment which when it came didn't really help. The urologist organized bladder scan and abdo x ray which confirmed constipation, the paediatrician told us she wasn't constipated and had asked us to stop all lax meds. We had already been on oxby. and moved to vesicare ( Gp supported this) but this was like a bandaid approach as it was the constipation which caused all the issues including UTI's!
