Hi, i have a 10 year old girl who has been day time wetting since she was potty trained. She's so used to wet knickers she doesn't know any different. It seems to bother me more than her. We don't have an issue with night time wetting. Anyone else going through this??

Day time wetting
No it's night time stuff with us (though she was very often daytime damp til about 5ish and was also pretty much used to it). Are you getting any help with it?
We are currently seeing the Continence Nurse which we have been for about 3 years now. She's saying S needs to drink more, about 1500ml a day which is easier said than done. Trying to get a 10 year old to drink more is proving to be very difficult.....
My 8yo is exactly the same. We've tried coercion, constipation clear out, blackmail, bladder ultrasound scans, oxybutynin, rewards, yelling, ignoring... She would quite merrily sit in wet pants, claiming she didn't know. It drives me potty (excuse the pun) but I don't know what to do. We'll have periods where she can be fine... like most of the summer hols were awesome (last year's was a disaster)... but then back to wet pants.
I'm honestly more and more convinced it's just a mindset now.
First of all thank you so much for replying, no one i know is going through this and just need someone to talk to. S is on movicol so her bowel movements are alot better. But like you we have tried everything but it doesn't seem to bother her at all. She's now so fed up of me shouting she just ignores me. Now Oxybutynin was mentioned the last night i took S to see the continence nurse....i'm not so sure because of the side effects...
We've had all the bladder scans too and all came back clear. We are due to see the consultant in Dec but he says the same as the nurse S needs to drink 1500ml a day. Easier said than done......
Oh I totally get what you mean - I can't get my dd to drink that much or anywhere near it either. I feel like I'm always on her back going drink more! drink more! It's exhausting and I worry it makes her self-conscious about it.
School's been a bit of an issue too because they take water bottles to school which is great... but apparently then keep them in a box and only drink from them now and then (which I find really strange). I've had to ask three teachers in a row now to let her have her bottle on the desk so she can sip. Unfortunately she doesn't like to do anything different to her friends so I don't know whether she actually does it...
Sorry that's a ramble but I just wanted to say getting reluctant kids to drink is a real challenge for me too.
Sometimes we need a good ramble especially to someone who kinda 'gets it'. I've tried to get S to change at school but she won't as her friends will just ask her why.
Funnily enough this week she has actually drank what she needs to as we are doing a reward chart (again!!) but as she's older she can choose an appropriate reward at the weekend. This is the first time she has ever done this....
i've got to the stage when i just can't badger her anymore. i don't have the energy!!!
