sleep (if you can get any) and literally having a jumper near by (perhaps on a radiator or be sitting on it to keep it warm, so as soon as the hot flash is over you have a snuggly warm cardy or jumper to put on right away. Keep a hot water bottle warm and wrap the cardy or jumper round that as soon as the heat starts building up in you, so when it switched to chills you are going to have a warm thing to wear. I found the cold chills were actually worse to cope with than the warm flashes.

And I was getting 4 or 5 an hour every hour. There was no escape, not even in a hot bath,

I know some ladies have taken HRT to try and lessen the frequency of the hot/chills but it doesn't always work. Might be worth trying though.

At the supermarket shopping, if a hot flash came on, I headed straight to the freezers and opened the doors and tried to look interested in the contents of the freezer, just long enough to cool me back down LOL.

It's not easy by any means and so annoying, you have my sympathy.

The only consolation is that having side effects of chemical menopause is reckoned to be much worse than the real thing, than natural menopause when eventually that happens.

Wear layers, nice and easy to take off when they start. I have found eating healthily & losing weight has really reduced them. I get approx 1-2 a night and they aren't half as bad as they were. Just riding them out like a wave is really all you can do. Good luck

Hi, your post doesn't say if you are getting the hot and cold sweats as part of your endo symptoms or because of drug treatment?

I get hot flushes as part of my endo symptoms, and I don't take any drug treatments. I always have a hand held "spanish" style fan with me, one in my handbag and one in the car. I do a lot of motorway driving and its the worst thing in the world when you are flushing and stuck in the car. I have the air con on full blast and then fan the cold air onto myself - men in vans on the m6 always think its hilarious to wave at me cos it looks like I'm waving as I'm driving along!

Colleagues complain abt the windows always being open in work and I've been told by numerous people that a car journey with me is awful, and I sleep every night with my bedroom window open.

When I flush it will be constant for days on end and I walk around in really light layers and then like a switch has been pressed it suddenly goes and then its like whoa! When I suddenly feel the cold of the normal temperature!

I also get really dizzy and faint and I only feel like that when I'm flushing so I put it down to my body overheating and it being too much for me so I always have sugar on hand to bring me round - I carry those sugary shoe lace sweets and cans of coke.

Its so annoying, I'm only 31 and everyone says its like I'm going through the menopause but I'm not, my gp sends me for the menopause blood test every 6mths or so and it always comes back normal and my last one was a month ago.

If you're having hot-sweats because of hormonal treatment like prostap or zoladex, I would suggest cutting out caffeine, or cutting back on it because it can make hot flushes worst.

I never had any caffeine havent had it for years but was still getting flashes and chills several an hour on zoladex.

Heaven forbid if I'd been on caffeine too..Yikes!!!1
