I spent 2 weeks in Stepping Hill a few years ago, but not endo related so sorry that I can't comment on the gynie clinic. The hospital was okay, nothing terrible (other than they didnt replace toilet roll in our ward for aaages one day, sheesh!) Staff were pretty nice, facilities okay. I met a fabulous physio guy there who was very helpful.
Just to say THANK YOU LADIES! Before admin dte rhis post as its got a specific dr mentioned in it ive just had message telling me my posts will be deleted as its not allowed. Even though this one is a month old!
Anyhow wanted to say huge thanks as i went to see dr pickersgill, genius!
Brilliant totally took me seriously & is going to operate to cut as much out as possible in 5th july.
I was diagnosed with endo after a referral to the gynaecology department of Stepping Hill hospital in 2008. I also had all my endo treatment <operations, injections, scans etc> there until I moved out of the area in 2011. The hospita land the Women's Unit especially became like a second home to me as I was there so often.
I could not fault the care I received whilst a patient there on the ward nor at any of my outpatient appointments. I too was under Dr Pickersgill and felt very safe in his diagnosis and treatment plan for me. He is very knowledgeable about endo and has a calm, reassuring manner with his patients.
I'm sure you will be fine but if I can help any further please ask

after further research on dr pickersgill, i have agreed with yourself & understand why my gp has referred me to him rather than wirral first. (i asked her about the wirral but obv she researched & managed to get me referred all the way from warrington to stockport )
i am lucky to have a very understanding female gp well two from the surgery i am at are very good. no fuss repeat prescriptions too without having to explain over & over!
i do hope i actually get to see him though as ive been messed about so so much over the years, here in warrington. explainign time & time again what, when & why!
i would like womb emblation, ive waited years to ask the righht person. ive always kept being told your too young.....etc etc etc but seriously we cant have anymore kids anyway (husband has cancer), we have one 9yr old & i know hyst is too much but if i can have womb emblation to stem the bleeding with northisterone then i can just about cope pain wise with paracodiene 30/500mg & menefemic acid 500mg which lately chew like smarties i use a tens (ACE) & heat patches - so i need advice on pain clinic too.
