Pain after laparoscopy!

I had a laparoscopy 4 weeks ago and they removed a large cyst from my ovary. I'm now getting severe pain on that side & in my pelvis. It is worse when I am standing. Is this normal?

I had the same pain and thot i had an infection but turns out i didnt. They say it can take up to 6wks full recovery and it maybe the scar tissue that is causing u the pain. Ask ur doctor for some stronger painkillers and see if they help u xx

It can be a lot longer than 6 weeks for full recovery (something like 6 months until technically everything gets back to normal). If you are getting any flu-like symptoms it can indicate infection so take your temperature and contact your doctor if it starts rising.

Remember, everyone takes a different amount of time to recover, and if you start a period (or are due) then it can feel like you are back to square one again!x
