Perhaps you had a duff Mirena. It doesn't mean the second one will be just the same.

Lots of reports on line of different results from different Mirena implants.

First one good, second one had to be removed, 3rd one okay

First one lousy, second one worked fine

and so on.

you could have had a duff mirena first time, or your body could have reacted badly to it but since then be more receptive now to it, having had one before.

As it is being properly installed under general anaesthetic, with the right equipment there to ensure it goes in the right place, I'd still give it go.

Worse case is that it doesn't kick in and you need it taken out eventually, but it could just do the trick and really work next time, in which case transform your life.

There's no harm in trying it again, especially when it is being put in when you don't know anything about it. That's always the biggest issue, getting it put in properly without pain.

I had 2 mirenas during that time first one dislodged after 7 months.

If the 1st went wonky or fell out at 7months just as it should have been kicking in properly, you can discount that one. So the 2nd one, how long was that in for and did you notice any improvements at all in lessening the bleeding before it was taken out?

And why was it taken out? Was it for a bad rection or simply because it hadn't yet stopped your bleeds?

Or have you tried the arm implant things? Nexplanon they're called. they are also supposed to stop periods too but don't last as long as mirena.

and yes if the norethisterone 3 tablets stopped the pains and the two tablets don't then certainly speak to the GP to go back up to 3 tabs a day.

I was on 3 tabs a day not two. You have to do whatever it takes to feel human again, even if that means an extra tablet a day to get there.

at the end of the day it is your call, you can have the Mirena in and still keep taking the norethisterone, (though it might send your hormone levels cookie while you are on both.)

Or try something else.

If you are still happy to take the norethisterone 3 times day for ever more, that's up to you.

I'm not a fan of popping pills of any size or shape, I hate taking tablets, so the mirena for me has been a godsend in that respect alone.

Was in for over a yr, periods were the same but started getting irregular a wk early. Will prob give mirena another go can't help in trying again. I do still have pain with norethisterone but with going down to 2 I'm having period like cramps along with my normal pelvic pain, has only been 4 days since reduced dose but getting me down feeling like this.
