Hi weealex. I've read that endo can b present in microscopic deposits. So sometimes it can b left behind after a lap. Also depending on how long ago u had it removed it can return. Mine came back after about 5 yrs of having it removed. To know for sure I had another lap in Oct. my ultrasounds were clear, so were not helpful. Hope this helps u a little. Take care x

The answer is yes (unfortunately). If nerves are affected/irritated/damaged even if all endo is removed it will leave pain and eventually sensitivity in the area.

This is my case, deep endo only in one single location, all removed by the root, still in pain after 3 months from lap. Its getting better, but it will take time as they had to cut and irritate many nerves (i had endo in my right uterosacral ligament--full of nerves). x

Hi Zeeva, thank you :) I had stage 3 removed last August. I know for sure that I have cysts again on both ovaries, but they think its unlikely that there's anything else significant. I certainly expected to have at least some pain free time before it came back.

I was moved to orthopaedics because my GP thought it might be my spine or pelvis, but the scans came back today with nothing. The ortho specialist suggested it was endometriosis still, so I'm back where I started.

I'm taking tramadol, diclofenac and paracetamol daily and it's a bit of a struggle. Oh what I would give to be a man right now! :)

Hey jojo, i had it all over the place really, including the uteral sacral ligament. Maybe I'm having the same problem then. Oh bugger! Good to know I'm not alone, although I wish you a speedy recovery too x

Ladies I don't feel as bad now x

I've had pcos and endometriosis before but managed to have my son who is 2 in April. unfortunately I lost a baby 8 weeks in, had evacuation but pain awful afterwards so landed up another evacuation and lap were they said they found some endometriosis. This was all December, I have been in and out of hospital. Xray and scans clear but in constant pain, mainly near groin on left hand side. Same drugs as you guys to. Now been off work since late November with no answers other than it may be endometriosis and left me waiting 6 weeks for out patient ap x any ideas or similar issues?

Oh I'm so sorry to hear this, you've been through an awful lot x

I've had no experience with pregnancy, but the rest of your problems sound very familiar.

My pelvic bones are always very sore, even to touch. Particularly my public bone. I have a very specific groin pain on my right side, tucked in just above my pubic bone where my leg starts. I often have niggling pains between my legs that feels a little like I've spent a day on the bike in the gym. My back, hip, leg and right bum cheek are affected too. generally I'm just very sore and can't get comfortable.

I had 2 surgeries last year and was off after the 2nd one for almost 2 months. 13 weeks in total for the year. Work were great but I felt quite bad being away for so long. Every hospital appointment involved the longest wait...not one to be too dramatic...but the wait can feel like torture!

I first visited my GP in August 2011 so its been hard going. Lots of ups and downs. But I am back to work and find that it's a great distraction. I eased my way in gently over a few weeks and learned to manage the medication. I'm able to pull off some impressive meeting whilst up to my eyeballs in pain medication :) I'm quite proud of being able to balance both.

The most useful thing I can say though is that you're definitely not alone. I find that helps too...xx

Thanks babe x I have exactly the same but on left hand side x i my work are sick of me, I.d only just started to settle after pro longed post natal depression x

I have now asked for a referral to another hospital x

I did try to go back to work but landed up having to pull over and call ambulance. Its about 15 miles and the traffic was awful with snow so 1.5hours in I was calling 999. Does driving make you worse? X

How frightening!! Definitely don't go back yet then, your clearly not up to it, poor thing. I had a couple of false starts when I went back, but nothing like that. I should say, on my earlier comment about work, it does take up all of my energy to do it, so I don't mean to be flippant - just go back to work - it's easier said than done x

Yeah driving can be pretty uncomfortable. It's the accelerator side for me too. I avoid long journeys now. my office is only 3 miles away so it's pretty quick.

Do you think depression has an effect on all of this? I sometimes think when I'm at my lowest its worse. That might be a chicken and egg thing though..I might be low because its at its worst :)

I'm curious about your referral. Is that to access better facilities and doctors?

x

The depression won't be helping but its fairly controlled, not as well as it had been as I had to change tablets when realised pregnant.

Well done on getting back to work hun x

The referral I've asked for is predominantly private however my mother in law works in the chemist there and has found the name of a specialist who also does nhs there so just waiting for an appointment there soon I hope x

I find it strange that so many pain killers just get me through the day lol sometimes not to bad. Bed time tends to be worse and sex sets it off to x what we like hey lol x

Keep up the good work x x

It's always handy when you know someone like that and it sounds like she's given you a good alternate route. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that its quicker too :)

I struggle at night too and often wake in the night with it. The weekends are such a treat though! No alarm :) woop!

You take care and feel free to drop me a message here if you need to xx

It sounds like you've got a good supportive husband there :)

When the pain is really bad I do burn up quite a bit. Luckily I've only had that at home because hauling all my clothes off at work wouldn't go down very well I don't think :) imagine the looks! :)

It's been a pretty good weekend actually thanks :) sunshine does wonders! Hope yours has been good too x
