hi Amb43 I get a lot of pain in all my joints especially my lower back and hips and I got sent to a specialist who told me ive got hyper mobility syndrome in most of my joints and he told me (not sure if it true its just what he said) that a lot of woman with endo get HMS!

might be worth having a chat with your doc about it I know my endo makes my back worse coz the pain radiates through hope you get some answers and help with this take care.

That's very interesting, thank you. If you don't mind me asking what is your back pain like, and where is it mainly?

Have got my 1st Lap next week so hopefully on the road to discovery.

Thanks again x

Hi Amb43, I have 3 prolapsed discs, degenerative vertebrae, and endo on my uterosacral ligaments, so take your pick! I'm not sure which contributes the most but it's definitely worse when my cycle pain starts ramping up. Have you had anyinvestigations?

Oh my word! How on earth do you cope with all that pain!? You must dread your cycle coming round. Are you on anything to stop it.?

If you don't mind me asking, what is your back pain like and where is it? I have my suspicions as to what my problem is, and have my first lap on Wednesday, so hopefully on the road to discovery.

Take good care of yourself xxx

hello. i have chronic lower back pain and in my hip. my doctor has said its just chronic pain and i have to live with it, however the more i read im now more sure than ever that it is connected to the endo. i going to ask for another referral and speak to a specialist. my pain is constant, every day and night. i don't get releave.x

I would ask for a referral too, it's not fair to have to "live with it"! There's got to be a reason for it. Are you diagnosed?

Constant pain is really hard to bare, I bet you don't sleep well either. I can't be up on my feet for long before the pain kicks in, despite Cocodamol, Tramadol, Buscopan, Voltarol and Morphine. Gets you down

Hello amb43. yes i am diagnosed with endometriosis, poly cystic ovaeris. that was sorted in the 1st lap. but never was i checked for my back. I did ask a specialist gyne and he said it was advanced endo so i went to the doctors. i told them my endo was back and asked to be sent to a gyne who is specialised in endo and he agreed, so now just waiting for an appointment. thank you for the encouragement. x

Hi Winey, have you heard anything about an appointment with a Specialist?

I had a lumbar spine x-ray last week which came back normal.

Hello Amb43. yes. I got a phone call from the hospital. They are sending me my appointment through and it should be within the next 8 weeks. What is a lumbar spine xray? It sounds nasty. :) x

Oh that's good, but 8 weeks? This waiting game is horrible isn't it. I know it's the system and there are many others probably worse off than me, but debilitating pain every day does start to take it's toll on you. I've had a very bad morning, much better now though. In so much back pain I could hardly, and didn't want to, move. My son (20) even helped by giving me my morphine while laying down. My Dad is coming to pick me up in the morning to take me to theirs while mum cooks me a lovely roast dinner for Mother's Day, I only really leave the house for hospital or Dr's appointments, only a handful of times since Christmas, so, I am hoping and praying I am feeling well enough to go as I am so looking forward to it.

The lumbar spine x-ray was fine, just a normal x-ray laying on my back, bit hard with the back pain but took my morphine before I went, I think "lumbar spine" is just an area of the spine.

How have you been doing? Hope your pain has not been too hard on you and you have a nice weekend.

Hugs xx Amb xx

ive not been too good today, i didnt sleep properly last night as the pain kicked in :( hoping for better tonight,

8 weeks is quicker than i thought it was was going to be. i thought i was going to have to wait for months. lol.

going to write everything up for the gyne and print off as much info as possible to prove the back pain. proberly dont have to but after the last gyne im not taking any chances.

im sorry to hear how much pain your in. i dont leave the house that much really, but i have small kids so have to do school runs. u must feel like ur going crazy.

im not on morphine yet, not sure i would be happy taking it. lol.

you have very good parents and son, its nice when you have someone helping you.

well i hope it all eases for you. x
