Irregular spotting and chronic pain - previously been diagnosed with endo but no treatment for years.

Hello

i have had diagnosis of endo for about 10 years, but after last lap several years ago, where I was told I had a minimal amount and the diathermy of this did not help symptoms, I resolved not to address it anymore. At the time I developed endo I was also diagnosed with ME - I was having all sorts of investigations due to persistent illness (fatigue, nausea abdo pain etc) that has left me unable to work etc.

Anyway, at times I get sick of the chronic pain - mainly lower right abdo - which worsens cyclically and think I ought to go to Gp, but am unsure what I am looking for as I don't think the treatments make any difference to me. Over the last year I have had increased spotting both mid cycle and pre-menstrually; at times it can last almost through the month. I mentioned it to my GP a couple of years ago when it was minor and she said it was normal. It doesn't feel normal now, or can it be a sign of ageing/peri-menopause (I am 43).

I just wonder whar others experience of this is, or if there have been any new developments in the world of endo since I last investigated...

Many thanks,

yours

HildaL

I have mid cycle and sometimes all the month spotting. I told my gp and consultant...both said it's normal for people with endometriosis to have these bleeding. I have endometriomas bilateral. I am on zoladex but have these bleeding and spotting regularly. I told my gp today itself...he said I am not worried. He tells me is a nuisance than a worry. But experiencing it worries me. I have to put my trust in them. Hope this helps.

Hi Hilda, my advice would be to see your gp with alist of your symptoms. Stress you were diagnosed with endo 10 years ago and ask for a gynea referal. You obviously have enough to cope with and it sounds to me you have good reason to be looked at. Good luck and i hope you get some answers soon. X J x
