Questions I should ask the gynae......help!

Hi everyone I have my next gynae app in 5 days and i'm trying to get a list together as I have had so many problems.

I had a lap in September then had post op complications. I thought that would explain the pain but it has gotten to a terrible stage. I'm in pain every day and i'm facing losing my job very soon as I've had so much time off.

I have a list of problems that is soooo long. Do you think going in there with so many issues will do me any good?

When I say issues, here's an example

1. Severe abdominal pain

2. a feeling of popping inside

3. vaginal spasms

4. pain with a full bladder

5. fatigue

6. pain whilst walikng

7. vomiting and pain with intercourse

8. irregular bleeding

9. bleeding after sex

The list is actually longer but I feel you may have the jist of it!!

I just wonder if the specialist is gonna roll his eyes if I go in with so much.

The last appointment I had his colleague said that it wasn't possible to have the endo back so soon and that my only choices are painkillers or contraceptive.

I am truly at my witts end. I have so many questions but never get positive answers. Has anyone been through a similar situation? I don't know how i'm gonna go on if they don't help, I am really losing hope.

Sorry for the novel, thanks

As far as ive heard the endo can come back very quickly, I had a lap done recently and they didnt remove all my endo! If they only laser some areas then they are only burning away the surface and the root of endo will still be there so its possible this is the reason. I didnt have any relief from my op either but dont want to keep having laps done as now have alot of scar tissue. Hope this helps and defo take ur list and questions with you as i didnt last time and forgot lots to ask. xx

Thanks Hun. I have made the mistake before and forgotten so many things. I know it sounds dramatic but this has almost ruined my life. I never thought that the endo would come back so soon.

I just really hope the gynae comes up with a plan to give me some hope rather than being left to hang and suffer. Out of interest are you on pain meds? The only ones they seem to give me are diclofenac and cocodamol. They also tried the contraceptive microgynon which I had to come off due to migraines. Deary me, this stuff is a pain in the bum!!!

Fingers crossed I get somewhere Hun. It's so annoying that there only seem to be limited options. Having these contraceptives just messes your body up even more( in my opinion) .

I have been trying for kids for 4 years now too so it's not ideal . I hope you get somewhere soon too, it's really not right that there are so many advances in medicine, yet we all have to suffer in relative silence. Thanks for the support xx

Hi Dani

If I were you, I'd print off your first post in this thread and take it with you to give to the consultant to read. You've summarised what you are going through brilliantly in that, and also your fears about the appointment. He cannot fail to understand how important this is to you, and it might also make him realise how terrified most women are going into these things; because consultants are dealing with this every day I sometimes think they don't realise how much of a big deal it is for us.

I've done this before and I watched a really crusty old gynaecologist crumble before my eyes and actually say "Oh, you poor thing".

It will either work or he'll have you escorted off the premises :D

Good luck, and lots of love

C xxx

Sounds like you maybe anaemic amongst other things, but I would also ask to screened for adenomyosis. Please visit the main Adenomyosis Advice Association website to learn more about the symptoms as yours match those of the condition. adenomyosisadviceassociatio... x Danielle x

I recommend keeping a symptom diary and taking it along to your appointments then they can see the reality of the impact on you. All the best x

Thanks for the advice gals. Another thing I'm gonna ask about is chrohn's as my brother is under testing and almost certainly has it. I suffer from terrible bloating and strangely, since my op I've become intolerant to a lot of foods. It can be so overwhelming . So many things to deal with at once and also having the prospect of medical termination so soon. I'd just say I'm a very lucky lady to have my fiancé. It's scary as I'm only 27 and its been the worst two years of my life. I don't know how people deal with this for so many years. I will definitely make use of all of your wonderful suggestions xx
