update after my visit to a different gynae.

I went to see my new gynae, a very lovely lady who seemed to understand everything about Endo, (a relief), basically she said that on my notes from my previous ops my Endo is mild in my pelvic area, but having had a full hysterectomy tubes ovaries the lot, my endo shouldn't give me anymore pain and should have settled, however I know it hasn't, they are not keen to scan as nothing will show and they are not keen on another laparoscopy as the scar tissue will get worse everytime you do surgery, I am trialing with no HRT to see if that makes a difference but so far 2 months in, i don't see a change, so it would be best to stay on them to help the heart and bones as these deteriorate if you don't stay on HRT.

So from here I am none the wiser, she seems to think my trouble may be something else, quite what they don't know, so I am waiting now for an apt with the specialist in Endo at the hospital and then also the endo specialist in endo pain following a full hysterectomy, ( which tells me there are people out there who suffer even after a hysterectomy to need a specialist in that field) I did have a polyp which was causing the pain during intercourse and bleeding which was not there before and has now been removed, so we will wait again and see what happens.

Hopefully i won't need to wait too long !!

Hi, have a look at this web page if you like, written by D. Sherrill Sellman, she has done a lot of research into women's health issues, HRT, menopause and hormones, it is interesting reading and may give you a new perspective about taking HRT. I have also been researching and reading that a lot of women can still have endo pain even after hysterectomies, which maybe means that any endo still there, is still being affected by hormones and causing pain.

Here's the link:

Sherrill Sellman is psychotherapist and health researcher and writer. She is author of "The Hormone Heresy: What Women MUST Know About Their Hormones."

Good luck with the endo specialist. Hope you can get some good help and advice :-)

I think i have read a report before that says its the oestrogen from the ovaries that feed the endo, so the hormones that are in the HRT are what can still feed the endrometriomas that may still be attatched in parts of the pelvis.

You would think that it would all get better after a hysterectomy.

My mum had a full hysterectomy and ovaries removed and has never had any pain since, so fingers crossed it will get better for you xxx
