hi i had my lap 4 weeks ago to remove end... - Endometriosis UK
hi i had my lap 4 weeks ago to remove endometriosis and have started getting the pain back again is this normal
Hi....it could just be inflammed around the area you had surgery causing pain.. Did you have cysts on ur ovaries? These can grow bck really quickly also if removed...More likely it could be scar tissue forming which is very common with endo. See if it settles in the nxt few wks if not ask to see your consultant again..
Good luck .... Endo certainly sucks ... xx
Hey, i know how you feel, ive had four ops! But yes, ive heard from my Gyne it is quite commen for Endo to return very quickly and ive heard of people need another op to have it lazored off as quick at 4-6 weeks. I really feel for you right now, but keep your head up and dont let this illness win xx
Hi,
iI had my first lap 6wks ago and had excision surgery for endo, adhesions and also ovarian cyst removal.
I had the same endo pain that id had for 2 years around 2 weeks after op and thought oh no its back already, but from about 3 weeks ago I have been virtualy pain free, only a couple of niggles here and there.
I did a lot of resting and a couple of 2 days in bed and I think you have to to that to get back on your feet.
My boyfriend took my on a 2 day break to wales and we did nothing other than relax and have a day out at the zoo and its been since then ive had no pain, so i would say just rest and relax as much as possible, go for a beauty treatment, get a friend / boyfriend or anyone you can to give you a massage and have lots of nice baths.
I also started on the endo diet 4 weeks ago, ive cut out dairy (drinking almond milk and having natural yogurt, and goats or feta cheese) wheat (eating free from everything - bread, biscuits etc), eating chicken and fish or veggie meals - only had red meat once in the 4 weeks
and loads of fruit and homemade smoothies and while ive only stuck to it about 75% of the time I definately feel better for it and think its most likely contributed to being pain free.
There are some posts on here about endo diet, but I think its def worth a try, I dod it as I wa determined it wasnt going to grow back and rule my life again .
Hope you feel better soon
Stay strong
xx
Hi! I had my first lap about 4 weeks ago too, and the consultant said they had managed to successfully remove all the endo they found so I was looking forward to being pain free! After the op I had pain around my belly button and later on got an infection in this wound, but had no pain whatsoever lower down in my pelvis where I had the treatment. About 2 weeks after the op I started to get pain in the usual places and I went to the gp as I was worried I may have an infection internally or something. He asked me where I was in my cycle, and I said I was due on in about a week, and that it was the same time and place I would usually start getting the endo pain. He said that this may happen for a while, and it doesn't necessarily mean the op wasn't successful, though I can't really understand this as if the endo is burnt away, how can it respond to the hormones? Anyway I'm hoping it will settle. I had the mirena fitted as well, and so far I have got the usual pains, but I was due on Tuesday and have only had a bit of pink spotting, but the pain is the same as if I was bleeding! I hope yours settles down soon too.
