Anyone had an endoscopy?

Hey.. I have had two.. One with sedation and throat spray one with just spray.. And I needed sedation and regretted not having it and letting myself be swayed against it by doctors.. Let me know if you have any questions x

Just does it hurt, how uncomfortable is it, do you have to swollow? I've had a colonoscopy and had sedation for that it did hurt a little, it's the thought of gagging and not being able to breath. Cwas it linked to endo? Cheers. X

I had about 8 in the past and they were fine with sedation, for first couple, so you should be fine I didn't feel a thing x (had to have general after about 4th as sedation stopped working!)

I had one during my year abroad in Austria a few years back. I was quite scared as nobody there spoke English! I wasn't sedated and really thought I was going to choke to death. The Drs just kept on telling me to breathe deeply

i was lucky my doc said a general would be best so i said ok. it was no problem then, my sister on the other hand wasn't offered this and she said it was the worst thing ever, I would go for the sedation or general, don't put yourself through anything you don't have to. good luck

Thanks for info. I had sedation but it still wasn't the most pleasant experience I ever had. The colonoscopy was easier, but it came back fine.
