confused??

seen alot of people talkin bout ''PROSTAP'' is this the same as ''ZOLADEX'' or are they different just bit confused as been on zoladex and nobody has ever mentioned this prostap before

Hey. I'm not sure about the difference, but last time I was at the hospital they started me on zoladex and the doctor said they would have given me prostap instead if they had it in store. I believe they do the same thing, but I'm not sure if they work in a different way. I just know the doctor told me the prostap injections were less painful. It's worth asking your doctor about. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful. I've only been on zoladex for just over 2 months and I'm shattered all the time, is this the same for you?

Hey, I was on zoladex years ago and hated every second if it - injections in the stomach, evil side effects etc I have been on prostap for 3 months so far and wish I had done it sooner! Injection goes in your arm to start with and I am now full of energy. I actually wake up and jump out of bed to clean the windows, mow the lawn... Can't remember ever doing that before! The only issue I have is that you can't take it forever!

i have had 4 shots of it now on hrt aswell so makes it a bit easier but yes very tired all the tym i could sleep for a month starting havin a very painful hip n bleeding alot every month so i have decided not to have any more goin to see dr wed

that strange to have it on the belly or arm as i had prostap 3 on my arse!! left or right 3 times!! but it was doing me very well to be honest but never been on Zoladex at all!!

They're essentially the same drug in so much as they do the same thing, but everybody reacts differently to everything, and even that changes over time

When I started out many, many years ago, I preferred Prostap over Zoladex, it actually made me feel better generally. I've just finished another 6 month course after a cyst reared its ugly head and I asked for Prostap over Zoladex....but within 2 months I was begging to go back to Zoladex.

Also, different health authorities have different opinions on the two drugs, so you might not get a choice anyway unless you suffer a severe reaction to one or the other.

Both of them are awful (in my experience) but 100 times better than the drugs we were given when I was diagnosed 20 years ago. And they do the job.
