Please please help!
I had excision surgery in January where the specialist said he had removed a large amount of endometriosis on my right side. Before the surgery I did get monthly menstruation pain on this side, but since the surgery this has got horrifically worse. Each month, on the first day of my period, I get a severe flare which results in me being bed bound and taking morphine, screaming and crying for around 12-18 hours. After this period, the pain eases off and goes down to a dull ache for around 3 weeks of every month which can be managed with ibuprofen.
My surgeon's only subsequent recommendation is medical menopause which I'm not willing to do, so I am educating myself as to the possible causes of this pain. Could it be nerve damage?
I'm otherwise healthy, half hour walks every day, and regular gym and pilates classes, as well as an anti-inflammatory diet and supplements.
My family are so worried about me going through this pain each month and I really am at a loss to know what to do next, perhaps a second medical opinion.
Thank you to anyone who can help.
