bowel issues

Hi there yes i certainly have, i had to change my diet, as certain foods just don't agree with me. Sending you a big hug too x please ask if you have any questions x
Any change in bowel habits should be reported to your GP even with IBS and Endo. Especially new bleeding x
I had this as a symptom of endometriosis. I was told I had IBS, I did not, it was Endo. I was not diagnosed with endo until I had an emergency appendectomy in May 2023. Thru found I had endo inside my appendix and it was ‘grumbling’ for years (excess gas etc) prior to diagnosis and op. This is rare, but maybe worth getting checked out.
I would go back to the GP to discuss the issues you’re having. Have you ever had a laparoscopy?
Wishing you well & some resolution to manage your symptoms. Buscopan helps me when I have bowel symptoms during a period.
I do, you're not alone! I also have been told i have IBS but i think my endo has more of an effect on my toileting than the former. i experience bleeding almost every single time i go, and have chronic constipation to where i only go about once a week, i started taking fibre supplement pills and they definitely helped for the first month at least with bleeding, pain and frequency, now my symptoms are back to how they usually are though unfortunately and im struggling a lot again so im not sure where to go from here. i do get a lot of gas and i mostly always have but i cant burp either so that makes it a lot worse for me, when i'm more gassy i get awful stomach bloating and it goes rock hard and i get cramps and my stomach moves when it starts passing, after my endo surgery i got some medication for gas pains, Windsetlers / simeticone, i got them from boots but have since got them at tesco too, theyre not cheap but they help!! i was sceptical but got them for the post surgery gas pains and bloating and i didnt find them massively effective for that but i now use them when i have bad gas and stomach bloating and pain and i can definitely say they work and really help me so i absolutely recommend them and maybe some fibre supplements. youre absolutely not alone in this and i hope some of this helps <3 x
For 30+ years I’ve been told my sudden and urgent toilet breaks and regular stomach cramps is IBS. It got so bad 4 years ago I asked for medication to help with my symptoms; I was given Amitriptyline. last year I had awful abdominal pain on the lower left side. I thought it’s just an IBS ‘flare up’ but it wasn’t! 7 weeks later I find out I have endometriosis, cysts and I’d suffered a ruptured fallopian tube - the gynaecologist cannot understand how it happened. I had a laparoscopy in Jan this year to remove my left ovary and fallopian tube. They couldn’t remove my left ovary as they couldn’t find it. Fallopian tube taken.
Recently, I’ve read a few online articles and many say how women are misdiagnosed with IBS, when in fact, they have endometriosis!
When I look back at the years I’ve suffered from IBS, I probably had endometriosis the whole time. I can now understand why all the ‘IBS’, celiac and elimination diets failed.
Yes I have the same. I would say the same as the others definitely get some Drs advice just in case due to the bleeding but it could be inflammation or if the endo is affecting the bowel. I would also keep a food diary. I do every day. Just check in with the Drs to be safe. x
