I’m taking Cerelle for my endometriosis. For one week (the same week) every cycle I am unable to go to the toilet. I know I need to go and it feels like I need to but nothing comes out. It feels like there’s something blocking it coming out. During that week I get really bad back pain and stomach cramps but can’t pass anything at all!!
Does this sound like it could be related to my endometriosis? Has anyone experienced similar? If so what do I need to do?
Please help

This sounds similar to what I have. Does it feel like a sort of pressure on your bum hole like heavy like you have a brick up your bum? Like you need to go to the bathroom but when you go nothing comes out? Xxxx
I actual have this too, and my gynaecologist says he thinks I have endometriosis in between my cervix and rectum. It does feel like they are stuck together.
Welcome to my world. I have this consistently, not just times of cycle. No problem sharing, I have described it to people, as feeling like...there's a stick up my bum and I feel it moving up into me as I sit down every time, or sometimes more like pressure where something is as you say blocking the final journey of a poop, I know it's there but won't come down. This also lives side by side with the stabbing type rectal pain I have. I do have a deep infiltrated endo on my bowel which is to be removed with a next surgery in few months by bowel resection, but I have been told similar symptoms can arise for some people without having actual bowel endo and by just having endo 'near' the bowel.
You may not wish to do this, but I've resorted to helping myself go to the loo when it goes too long, yep, glove on and some lubricant as guided by doc. Be gentle, it's not nice, it feels odd but sometimes needs must. Also a massage around your anus can provide a stimulus to finish the journey sometimes.
As I said earlier, no problem sharing, mine is even more open and honest lol.
Diet can help the passage of poo obviously. Make sure you are getting few litres of fluids per day, and not just when you end up not going for a few days. Add some nuts and seeds to diet, Sunsweet prune juice also helps a lot for me. If you up your fibre intake a fair bit, remember to up the water with it or this in itself can cause constipation. Hope you feel ok! x
Thanks for sharing. I really appreciate it. You’ve described exactly what is happening with me as well. It’s really stressing me out and I just want answers and to know what’s going to happen next. We were going to try for a baby but now I’m thinking is that a bad idea. Thanks for the tips xx
Having a bowl of bran flakes (GF as I’m coeliac too) and taking a Laxido before bed has meant that I now go to the toilet, for something that is soft and reasonably sizeable, every morning - something that I do not remember ever doing before in my adult life. This has really helped with the bowel problems which I’m sure are related to my endo too.
I used to have this & sometimes a searing pain he felt like up my bum, they found a recto vaginal nodule which cause the issues you are experiencing, this was discovered on a pelvic mri - when u lay in front to get a better view.
They removed it whilst performing a hysterectomy, but I’m sure it can be done by keyhole or laparoscopy? They just happen to go some general housekeeping whilst doing that op? I don’t have that issue no longer but I’m now starting to get pain, even after having adhesions of endo & adenomyosis? Removed 6 months ago which I thought would be it 🤦♀️🤷♀️.
Yes it does! 🤦♀️ I’m so gutted!!, thought that would be it after a full hysterectomy & then surgery to remove existing adhesions 🤷♀️, why would you still be in pain with everything removed??
Haven’t gone back to her, only really came to head this weekend, had been feeling achey, nerve damage pain from hysterectomy and playing up a lot more Which it always did around ovulation & period, but just thought it wasn’t connected?, tbh she’s useless so may need to be referred back to either gynaecologist but they say it doesn’t come under that anymore as everything taken away, so think it will be back to gastroenterologist as things were all stuck together!
I hope you get some relief soon, it’s never ending but kept hoping it would be 😂x
I get you... I have the same thing and it starts during my pms until end of my period. I talked with my GP and she just said that sounded like IBS constipation and gave me a guide to up my fibre. Adding fibre just makes me more blocked. I then start taking stool softer so I could go because even laxatives weren’t working. I even saw a nutritional therapist and she said it was probably SIBO (small intestine bacteria overgrowth). I did an elimination diet with her which helped but then we had to add foods and it all came back. We also tried antibacterials which made me really sick. I don’t know, I felt like the GP and nutritional therapist weren’t seeing that this is just another symptom of endometriosis. Anyways, after all this time I found a book about gut health and I am giving the protocol a go now. The book has different techniques to help your gut. I am now in an elimination diet, I did a month vacation of solid food with some salt water flush, laxatives and enemas to clean my bowel. The enemas actua help a lot because they hydrate the colon and then I can have a bowel movement. I am now adding solid food and high doses probiotics. Let’s see how it goes. So far so good. So all in all what I do now is taking a laxative to clean my bowel at least once a month before my period to reduce all the pain during my period. I also do an enema. Actually I’ve been trying quick enemas, the douche, just to hydrate my colon an help clean it. I do have severe pms so I do take l-tryptophan or 5http during pms. It helps with sleep, mood and bowel movements. Well, I’ve tried a lot of things but these are the different things that may help that constipation and pain because of it: stool softener, laxatives before the time of the month that it happens, squats, squatty stool to help in the loo, colon hydrotherapy with a douche, occasional enemas, not overdoing fibre, 5http or l-tryptophan, probiotics. But I do feel the cramps and I’m sure I have adhesions on my colon. I’m waiting to see the doctor so they can tell me how did the MRI go and what surgeries I need. The book I mentioned is “Healthy Gut Healthy You” by Dr Ruscio. I hope these can help alleviate the constipation, lower back pain and tension in the lower colon area.
