Severe lower back pain

I’m just wondering if anyone has any tips or advice, I’m currently suffering with severe lower back pain right at the bottom of my spine towards and the top of my buttocks. If I sit for too long or stand for too long the pain is excruciating, it is there all the time but is made worse by the above.

Anyone have any tried or tested tips that work, I have tramadol but due to my work I’m limited to taking these.

Thank you x

Buy a plug in heat pad from Amazon. It works better than Morphine for me for pain. I hope it helps 🙏💕

I forgot to add, for me, sitting on a cushion really helps x

So sorry to hear this. You could try a tens machine designed for period pain. Some of them offer a money-back trial period. I also find heat helps. Good luck ❤️

Hi! Look into kinesiotaping for the lower back area. There are many tutorials on YouTube. You don't need a specialist to apply the tapes. Just learn basic muscle anatomy of the specific area and ask a friend/partner to tape you. Youtube channels I can recommend: 1) John Gibbons, he has a good DIY book for k-taping, can come handy for injuries. 2) KT Tape.

Taping "shapes" that work for me are asterisk (good when you have a problem with a particular vertebra, can also be used for period pain), and two vertical lines in parallel (provide support when sitting, basically it works like a corset).

There're many ways of taping the same area. Just pick the one that appeals to you. If it doesn't work or just doesn't feel right, try another method. People are different, it's ok.

And don't overspend buying expensive branded k-tapes. They are all the same.

Important. Do not use hair dryer to dry the tapes after showering, just pat them dry with a towel.

How long to wear the tapes. I wear mine until they drop off naturally.

Another thing that can help with back pain is acupuncture and trigger points massage. Muscles spasm, body symmetry gets disturbed and other muscles start compensating. If your glutes don't relax and stay tense all the time, this is your sign the problem might be in the soft tissues.

Physiotherapy might be beneficial in this scenario, but I have no personal experience with it.

Hope this helps. Wishing you to find a way to kick the pain out. X

Bowen therapy has been the best thing I have used to help with my back pain. I spent years and a fortune going around all sorts of different therapies but Bowen massively helped to make my pain more manageable. It’s very common to have some sort of coccyx dysfunction with endometriosis which then causes pain in the back and sometimes legs. If you do a lot of sitting for your job this would exacerbate it. I find using a coccyx cushion (they have a little cut out at the back to take pressure off the coccyx area) helpful to stop my back getting aggravated.

One of my colleague recommended me the {myobi } belt. It has got TENS ,Red light therapy, Heat therapy, gives you like massage as well . I carry at work as well . It does help . I hope it helps.
