anyones MRI affected their period?

Hi all,

A random one- I’ve googled this and apparently it’s not meant to be a thing, but I’ve seen some women online say they experienced weird behaviours to their cycle after an MRI scan..

I’m pretty regular- my cycle is usually 26 days and it can go a day or two either way ocassionally but I’m 4 days late now which is super rare!! I haven’t been stressed or anything particularly which would delay it and not pregnant!

I had a pelvic MRI with contrast dye 2-3 weeks ago. Last week I had my usual pre period pain with the cramping and mega inflammation so knew my period would be on its way, but nothing now! The pain has died down and I’m just bloated. I feel like it’s not happening.

I know 4 days doesn’t seem much but it’s very odd for me.

Just wondering if anyone else experienced anything similar after an MRI or I’m just overthinking it all?!

Thanks!

I had an MRI with just buscopan 2 weeks ago and then my period was 5 days late! I did consider it could have been the MRI but also I’d had a fluey-covidy type illness the week before so not sure which was the cause. But like you I’m usually super regular and I did feel like I was about to start my period (pms etc) then just nothing for 5 days!

Oh that’s interesting!

I also had buscopan too but still waiting for mine to appear… feel like I had a phantom period which has never happened but I don’t particularly feel like I’m going to come on anymore 😓
