Hi all, I feel like when I've been more active than usual it triggers a flare up, has anyone else experienced this? Not even strenuous activity but just walking more than usual. I feel like that's when the pain kicks off again, though I guess it could be a coincidence. We're always told exercise is good for pain 🙄 but I'm not finding that to be the case at all. I also herniated a disc in my back 18 months ago and seems to be everythings started since then.
Does anyone else experience this?

Yes I've found I really have to pace myself. I've been like this for many years. I'm completely unable to take normal exercise. I use a walker or a wheelchair. I try to do a very short walk every day with the walker. If I do too much, even slightly, I really suffer. xx
Hi. My friend is a personal trainer and was showing me exercises etc. I could only do it for 2 weeks as I found it hurt my uterus and overies plus my back and hips hurt all the time. I don’t know if anyone else gets it but I find when I run or jump I wee a bit. I didn’t have that problem until the endometriosis. I did find exercising made my tummy bloat out more. I am like you in the sense of we know exercising is ment to help but what to do if it hurts. I hope you feel better soon x
I had a herniated disc and now every month it seems like it comes back, when in fact it is endometriosis. I had a flare up in February 2024 after going back to the gym. The doctors said that physical activity is good but I have been avoiding it for fear of the pain getting worse again. Last month I spent 5 days in bed (again), unable to do anything because of the pain.
there’s plenty of evidence that more high intensity/impact exercise can aggravate endo. I have it on my left uterosacral ligament (as well as other places) and if I try to do any hiking etc especially around ovulation or period it really worsens the pain in my left back and down my leg to my foot, it can make it difficult to walk and lift my leg. I’ve even tripped and fallen because my foot trips on things.
Thanks so much everyone for your comments 🙏 It's so frustrating when what you experience is contrary to the advice. I've even seen things like 'massage your tummy' but my gosh I can't even bare for my clothes to touch my tummy during a flare up 🙄. I still have back trouble and that is deff related to activity, but I think Endo is stopping it healing properly. Then maybe when I aggravate my back it triggers an endo flare up. I can't get any Doctors to consider a possible connection, so it's good to know it's not just me.
