post op follow up

hey I finally have a follow-up appointment for my surgery last September, has anyone else had one? Can anyone advise me on good things to discuss because I’m drawing a blank as it’s been so long. Any advice would be greatly appreciated !

Yes, I would also like to know this as I had my surgery at the end of October and have my follow up at the end of March.

Hi Ru8yred,That's good! And I hope you are recovering well. Is it with the actual surgeons who did the op? I had a hysterectomy in October 2024 and was due my post op this January. I attended it but not with the surgeons who did op so the consultant rescheduled another appointment to meet the surgeon after a brief chat about what was written on my surgery notes.

A few things I would have on my list to discuss:

Explain the procedures that were done, [you can request a copy if you would like one].

Ask for any biopsy results and what they mean

How much endo was removed / not removed?

Any endo left?

Any side effects to be aware of?

Discuss any symptoms you've noticed post op, e.g., pain, tiredness, etc.

Discuss hrt [if appropriate / required] - combined or oestrogen only or hormone tests

Post op scan if required

Any return to work advice if needed
