10 days is totally not enough time to heal from surgery! Especially going into such a physically demanding job as looking after young children. Get in touch with work and ask for more time off. I needed something like 4 or 6 weeks after to feel I could get out and about at all.

In the end, you've got to do what is right for you so take good care of yourself!

Any GP will gladly sign you off post lap for 4-6 weeks, longer if needed - hopefully if it’s a diagnostic lap you had done with no extra internal work you’ll feel much better before then 🤞🏼. Make sure you feel ready before return especially with a physical job. Phased return note from GP is helpful in due course as energy levels are hard going back to work after any op.

Hi, I work in a nursery too and had around 6 weeks off after my two previous laproscopic surgeries. The doctors/nurse said if I had a nearby desk job I might have been back a week or two sooner but you know in our job it's constantly being on the go, going up and doing, bending over etc. Ring your nursery and explain, even when I returned I had a couple of weeks of light duties- not lifting older/heavier children, not moving heavy furniture, no pushing the triple pushchair. Hope that helps and your recovery goes well.

Hi. Did you have any laser work done? If so, it will take longer to recover for sure. Also, we all respond to general anaesthetic in different ways. I didn't allow enough time to recover from surgery years ago and ended up with chronic fatigue syndrome, which has been life sapping. My advice is to contact work ASAP and just humbly say you're not well enough to return yet and call your GP first thing in the morning and ask for a doctor's note. Much better to take a few weeks now, rather than end up being forced to not work for years in the future. Take it easy and I hope you will be feeling much better soon x

Yeah I had two spots burned and a cyst removed I’m going to take another week and ring the doctors first thing tomorrow morning I tried to get back to normal yesterday and tidy up and do some washing and I’ve got pains today so definitely the right thing to rest more

From what I remember, if they just investigate then it doesn't take long to recover, but if you have laser surgery you need at least 3 weeks recovery. I hope sorting everything goes well tomorrow. If you can, take a couple more weeks. X
