Hi all,I had my laparoscopy and hysteroscopy yesterday. I managed to take a photo of what the consultant had written in my notes (naughty!) but I've seen him three times prior to this and never received a letter about the appointment (I'm also very impatient and curious!).
Can anyone help me understand a bit more. I get that I had removal of some superficial endometriosis. Was wandering if what was found is typical. Anyone had experience with a pelvic wall nodule?
Many thanks x

You can request your medical notes from your hospital. Just go onto their website, you may need to search "request medical notes" or SAR (Subject access request) and fill in a form. I've done right after my most recent lap and had the notes before my follow up call. They usually send a list of abbreviations explained as well. The only thing to remember with this is that you may have information before the doc had a chance to explain things to you which can be confusing, misunderstood or potentially worrying.
Which part of the above letter are you needing help with?
It is all abit confusing as my first ultrasound the technician couldn't find my left ovary but said it's fine. Then my gynaecologist scanned me and reported hematosalpinx and left ovary stuck to left fallopian tube. Then the second scan I had an ovarian cyst on left side. I imagine the cyst just disappeared but guess the first diagnosis was incorrect.
In relation to the letter, was the sigmoid colon adhered to another structure? Are these fibrotic nodules common? It's probably me but I just don't find it easy to read.
So I would say your Endo borders stage 2 and 3. Usually when the uterosacral ligaments are involved, it classes as rectovaginal Endometriosis which tends to indicate a higher stage. Fibrotic nodules are essentially Endo that has been there a very long time from my understanding. This is also a sign of more severe disease.
I had widespread stage 3 removed in Feb and multiple fibrotic areas removed alongside a nodule on my uterer and bilateral pararectal space excision
Thank you for your reply. I have no idea really, I just presumed it was stage 1 as it said "superficial".
Did you get your nodule sent for histology? Was there much that came back? I'm not sure what to expect from that really? I hope you have healed well and it has improved your symptoms.
I had patches from my sidewalls sent to histology. My consultant said that “active” Endo wasn’t seen because they were so “far gone” that it was just fibrotic at that point. I’ve unfortunately seen only minimal improvement but I do also have Adenomyosis and have also been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia since surgery.
