sunday MRI nerves

im going for my first MRI scan this sunday.

Is it weird to feel nervous that it doesnt show anything?

I have been diagnosed with endo, it was on my appendix which was removed. Also my bowels have been found to have stuck together.

I have also been told i have loads of scar tissue.

Ive had loads of abdominal surgeries, 10 in fact.

I can actually feel where either endo or fibroids are, with pain, tugging etc

Im worried they will not see anything and say its all ok, when i know its not.

It ultimately comes down to who is looking at the scans. My last MRIs 2 years ago showed no Endo but I had widespread stage 3 excised in Feb this year. It’s good for seeing deep disease but that also takes a trained eye

Thanks for replying. 😊

So far there havent been any specialists involved. So i very much doubt there will be with the mri either 😞

It is incredibly frustrating! Are you under someone who has a specialist interest in Endo at the very least?

hun as another person has said it depends who is doing the mri and depends on the person reading it . The thing is is will show deep endo and scar tissue . I was worried and like why do they need to mri if I had diagnostic lap . They have to do this as a guide to see what is involved and to map out next surgery and who will be involved etc . The mri for me was extremely noisy and I had a terrible migraine after and felt ever so sick. But now I know it’s due to the fact I’m autistic so I really didn’t like the experience. I would say if your under specialist already then I wouldn’t worry as it will show up and if they read it they know what they are looking for . I hope this puts you more at ease. Xx

Thanks everyone for your replies 😊😊

unfortunately, I have not been seen or referred to a specialist at all, my gynaecologist seems to want to deal with it herself.

I hate loud noises too, but coped with my head mri, and I know it’s needed.

My daughter is autistic so fully understand that side of it.

Not what you're looking for?
