Update/improvement in mental health!

Hi all! It has been a while since my last post. A lot has changed and yet remains the same! We fought for a while with pals and the hospital but we were just going around in circles! We are going private now. I've had my initial consultation and she explained to me she would rather not do a total hysterectomy if she could avoid it! She wants to start with a exploration to she how bad it is and go from there she said for definite that my left fallopian tube needs to be removed, what I did find upsetting though was that she said if endometriosis was all in my bowel and bladder I would have to go back and see an NHS specialist as she wouldn't have one on call! So feel like I'm paying for half a job and may still need more operations! I was given a prescription for Dienogest which my Dr never did! And now it's back to the waiting game! Waiting for an operation date! On a positive note my social life has improved, my anxiety and depression has decreased. I still have bad days but nothing like before! I am a bit scared though that I'm going to come crashing down! I've meet a guy that is helping me through all this which has also improved my confidence. The pain at the moment is manageable but, I won't take this for granted as I know it can change in an instant! If anyone is interested in alternative medicine please look up Susie Cornell at the Cornell centre! I've recently been to see her it was a magical experience! You are hooked up to a machine that can read your physical and mental state she told me things I didn't even mention! She helped my soul to heal and balanced my hormones. I hope your are all doing better and keep fighting that fight! Best wishes from me Sophie xx

it is tough when you go private and are told they can’t do what you need doing, but please remember this is for your own good. With stage 4 endo you will probably need a MDT present and that is tricky for private establishments to put one in place.

I had a total hysterectomy 5 weeks ago and have been in and out of hospital since - I now understand the need for the MDT! When endo spreads it makes a hysterectomy very challenging/complicated and recovery is also hard.

Does the private practitioner have anyone that she can refer you to as sometimes private had links to specialist endo NHS services?

I’m so glad your mental health is improving as endo certainly messes with your mind, that combined with the constant battle to get well is tough to deal with.

Keep looking forward and enjoy the good times☀️

Thank you for your reply! Sorry to hear what your going through! Just a waiting game now. Yes I think she will be able to point me in the right direction as she works at a hospital that has an endometriosis specialist clinic xx
