Has anyone every experienced surgery cancelled on the day. I was booked in for stage 4 endo and bowel surgery, however this was cancelled at 4pm, after arriving at 7am at the hospital as the client before me was complex and the surgeons ran out of time.
What is the process of having a new date offered? Are there any procedures within the NHS that are required to be followed in terms of offering a new date?

This exact situation happened to me too! I was so upset. But unfortunately they had ran over with a patient due to complications and could no longer fit me in. I waited all day on the ward, dressed for surgery only to be told it was being cancelled. I was told I would not lose my position on the waiting list (so would be the first priority) and was sent home. After a week I got a call saying they'd rebooked my surgery which was scheduled about a month after the failed surgery date.
If you've been waiting for some time now without hearing anything then I'd chase gynae about it. If your still unhappy with the answer then go to PALS or complaints x
Oh no, that sounds really rough, I'm sorry! I had to cancel mine the day before due to a tooth infection (I was so annoyed!) but it got rescheduled really quickly. I ended up having my op roughly a month later than I was supposed to. I hope you get things sorted soon!
