Is my chronic pain back? Need advice and someone to talk too.

Hi everyone.

I have had surgery to remove endometriosis 13 weeks ago. I was pain free for 11 weeks and now for the past 2 weeks I’ve been in chronic pain everyday. Pelvis pain, Stabbing groin pain, burning aching legs and lower back pain into my bum.

Has surgery not worked? What happens now? I’m terrified I’m going to have to live like this 😖

It does seem to happen for many people that surgery does not relieve symptoms long term. That sounds like a short period of time for symptoms to recur though. Are these the same symptoms you had before surgery? It may be that some endo has been missed, depending on the skills and experience of the person who did the surgery.

I guess you will have to go back to your GP and ask for a referral back, or for Gynae to see you sooner if you have a further appointment. Your GP should be able to prescribe decent pain relief for you, you may have to push them till you get something effective.

This is a horrible disease and there seems to be no long term effective treatment for most people. Xx
