had prostrap today what to expect
hi, I didn’t notice any difference until the second injection, then my periods stopped. I had a great time on it other than the hot flushes (I’m a cold person so I actually appreciated being hot for once) which are inconvenient. But all my other symptoms with endo went away whilst on the injection. Sadly was only allowed 6 months of it and I’m back to square one now but i had the best time on it but I know everyone reacts differently so you may not have the same experience but I hope yours is just at positive
thanks for your reply.. so I had it yesterday so far so good … I really hope I have a positive time off it aswell… after how long did the symptoms start to ease off pain wise ???
The pain eased after the second injection so I think it was 4 /5weeks / (28days after the first injection) and then I got my symptoms back 8 weeks after the last injection (6mths of injections) but from what I’ve read every one is different, sadly I’m back in the same pain I was with endo, bed bound when I have my period etc, but hoping to go back to the gyno to see what he suggests moving forward.
Hi I'm on prostrap and apart from the hot flashes/night sweats which i had anyway, it's been a breeze, a little joint pain now and again but I'm perimemopausal so was used to it. It took three weeks to stop the bleeding but i have fibroids endometriosis and adenomyosis too. I had a bleed again in February but mostly spotting for three weeks which was stressful as i thought oh great it's not working now. Hope it works well for you, have a wonderful day xx
Hi it really does depend why you are on it in the first place and how old you are, and if you are on HRT addback. I bled constantly for the first month. I was switching from provera too so it was terrible. I couldn't leave the house for a week. After the second injection it got better but mine runs out at 10 weeks so I start bleeding again. I'm on month 8 now and it's good. I take addback HRT (it seems odd to put hormones back whilst taking a drug to stop hormones but you need it for your mood). If you are older then you may have experienced peri menopause symptoms already but if not, look the up. There are around 34 different symptoms and you may get some odd ones that you don't connect with menopause - like your hair suddenly going dry and snapping or even falling out. Many women seem to think it's the drug itself that does this but it's menopause so I'd read all about that. Lara Bidens book is good. Take collagen, B vits and vitamin D and K and do some strength training to protect your bone mass which is affected by this drug and another reason for taking HRT. Good luck it has been good for me x
I’m 31 and it’s for endo and adeno pain… I’m having a HRT gel tomorrow and have been told to use that… let’s see how I get on I really do hope it works I’m on a 4 week trial and test and il take it from here if I want it going further or not
Hi. I'm 36 no add back HRT and I know its not what everyone expirences but honestly it's changed my life for the better I've had no side affects what so ever, my periods stopped right away, I'm on a better mood, I have no real pain ,(my back and flank area still flare up but that's nothing compared to where I was) I honestly don't know how I will cope without it, I've only been allowed 4 months but see the specialist before the last one will be out of my system. I cant imagine the upset it causes going back to normal endo life with pain etc I'm so so glad I took the decision to have this medication as its saved mu life
Hi hun do u not use any HRT with the injection. ?? Also how old r u if u don’t mind me asking … I’m still bleeding been a week today since I had it and I’m having pelvic pain … I’m sick and tired of feeling like this
Hi, I'm 36 had my first ip age 16, no add back HRT (Specialist may not agree with this) however I feel the best I've ever felt x
Thanjs for ur reply .. was u given HRT tho or r u not having it yourself ? Also did u have any bleeding or anything like that ?
I wasn't given any HRT, not been discussed not sure why, no bleeding or anything. I was day 1 of my period when I got my 1st injection, my period always lasts atleast 7 days it only lasted 4 it was like as soon as I got the injection it started working. I normally have horrendous ovulation where I cant even walk or stand straight and I've had nothing, and I know im lucky and not everyone has a good experience with zoladex but honestly I wish I could have it forever I have increased energy, I'm happier, everything I will be dancing to the specialistst this rate begging for it forever 🙈
I’m so happy for u.. maybe I need to give mine time as it’s only been 8 days today… I’m currently hating mine
Obviously I'm no medical professional and they know better but I believe having no HRT has helped me. My body does not react well at all to any hormones. I've been a nightmare all my life ha only got worse with the pill, coil, having children, etc etc best thing for me to shut it down. I keep fingers crossed you feel better soon I know some people have said it tooktill their 3rd injection but fingers crossed it's faster for you xx
