Hi,Usually leading up to my period I notice a change in my mood, I get pelvic pain, nausea, tiredness, increased bloating, tender breasts, diarrhea, sometimes pain in my bottom, and also notice a change in cognitive functioning (like everything is not working smoothly, like the cogs are not turning as they should and everything is uncoordinated, clunky and delayed).
I had the mirena coil inserted in March - it has helped with alot of those symptoms especially the pain but I am finding I am bleeding for longer (11/12 days) during my period then im spotting/light bleeding for the rest of the month. Often get vaginal bleeding with a bowel movement. And bleeding is worse when I've been more active.
Have you had the coil a while? I was told it can take 6 months for periods to sort out so whilst my body is getting used to it, periods can be variable x
No don't apologise! We're all women on here and understand. I had the coil in March, so it's only been about 3 months, I am hoping things continue to improve as I really don't want this to be the new normal long term as bleeding for 12 days at a time then frequently spotting is not fun. I plan to give it at least 6 months before I make my mind up (providing nothing goes horribly wrong).
Pre coil I used to get a lot of dark/old blood on my period and was much heavier with clots.
The colour now is more bright red when on period and is often more pink/greyish when I'm spotting x
