Had my MRI two weeks ago, today I received a letter from a consultant sending me for an AMH test. All it said was ' 31F with endometriosis and large bilateral endometriomas please test prior to surgical planning'. It didn't say anything else but I noticed it was requested from a new name. Did some research and it was from the lead endo specialist at my hospital so atleast I know I've been transferred over from the cancer gynecologist to her and the plan is still for surgery. Wish I knew what was on the MRI or when I would meet her. Should I be calling up and asking or just wait? I'm in horrendous pain daily at the moment and it's effecting my whole life. I expect a long wait I just feel its out the blue and would like to know the plan but maybe I am jumping ahead.

Hi

Request a copy of the report from the hospital, some now have online access as well. I did get one copy from the GP practice. There should be a contact email or form on the hospital website, you’ll need to send two forms of ID as well.

Hopefully you won’t have to wait long for the test, the consultant will wait for those results before making an appointment but it sounds like they are on your case 🙂 and things are moving forward.

What medication are you taking for the pain?

Thank you for replying - I was told to wait 6 weeks then if no ones told me about my MRI to call the medical secretary but I'm thinking they must have already viewed it to be sending me off for another test. I am going to ring tomorrow I think - I do have access to the online but all I can see is my GP record and nothing on hospital side. Currently just paracetamol, was put on provera and also told to take buscopan and that's it. I can't say any of it has helped so far unfortunately. If anything I think provera may be making me feel worse but I have been on it 4 weeks and was told that isn't long enough so will have to make do!

It’s worth a call to put your mind at rest to know what’s happening. Let us know how you get on.

There are separate apps for hospitals and GP, the NHS app has some of each but only appointments for hospitals, only GP records.

You aren’t on much for pain relief, I’ve tried most things and at the moment settled on Oramorph, paracetamol, Duloxitine and sometimes Diclofenac suppositories (they work well but you have to be careful of ulcers) I’ve also asked pain team to try naltrexone off licence as I read an article it can be used as an anti inflammatory. Zoladex made me worse, I was told it would take two or three but I tried the full six.

Thank you I went to the doctor today and they gave me amitriptyline and cocodamol and an anti sick. They tried to sign me off from work for a month but I freaked out and agreed to two weeks. I don't know why I just felt that my work will be angry if I was off longer. Hopefully the pain stuff will help!
