How long should I expect to bleed for post lap

Hi, I am just wondering what others experiences were in terms of bleeding post lap surgery? (vaginal bleeding, not from the excisions). Consultant had advised 7-10 days but just wonder what peoples lived experiences have been? I'm currently on day 11 of bleeding since surgery and would like to sense check when I should be concerned.

Hi, just to reassure you, I bled for at least 14 days after. My surgery was a lot and I lost a lot of blood in surgery. I had blood thinners too which may have contributed to the bleeding. My surgeon never gave me a time line for when I would stop. But I would say if the flow of blood doesn’t ease over the next few days, I would ring your GP to get some advice and reassurance.

Thank you for your reply. I was told surgery was tricky, I lost just over 1 litre of blood and they had a hard time saving my left ovary but did manage to do so in the end. So perhaps this explains the bleeding. It's not heavy so will just monitor for now. Thanks again.

Morning,The same as AR2008, it was about 14days for me too. Then when I expected a period that never came.
