Hi all advice please and similar experiences if possible. In the last 3 years I have had 3 courses of 6 months Zoladex for endometriosis. Each course has been amazing and totally sorted my pain. Been to the hospital today and initially was told I should have a laparoscopy but then the consultant called me back in and said she was happy for me to now have a 12 month course of Zoladex and would rather not do the operation as the medication works so well. This decision is because I had a DeXa scan late last year and the results showed that although I have very mild osteoporosis these were in the limits for my age.
Feel a little overwhelmed as thought I’d maxed out on Zoladex and all the guidance prior to this is that use of Zoladex should be limited and not a long term option.
Has anyone else used Zoladex for a prolonged period of time please and how did you find it? Grateful for any advice. The Zoladex will be a 12 month course and I will be taking Tibolone alongside and Calcium and Vit D supplements.

Hi I'm on zoladex. My consultant (specialist endometriosis clinic) has women who have been on it for up to 18 years x it's the licensing issue that limits it and endometriosis clinics don't have to follow those rules. As long as you have bone mass scans and exercise and don't drink alcohol - you should be fine xx
Hello! I’ve been on Zoladex/Tibolone for over 10 years and echo Sunset-lady’s advice.
Moreover, you say you’ve been getting on with it ok, so that’s another good sign. Plus, you’re a bit older at 44 - I would be a bit more wary of taking it if I were in my 20s or 30s.
Thank you really appreciate the reply. I really do work well the Zoladex to this point and have found your reply and that from Sunset lady really helpful
