I was just wondering if anybody could help in regards to having endometriosis in their bowel, as I've found it quite hard to find out about it when researching. My surgeon found it on the outside of my bowel, and I am seeing a colon specialist to see if it has entered my bowel. I was just wondering if anyone else has had symptoms like mine.
My symptoms are feeling as if I have severe constipation; Im taking 3 fibre gel sachets daily and have cut a lot of food out of my diet (gluten, dairy, meat, caffeine). However, my stools seem to be soft passing, but it creates excruciating pain in my stomach when passing. I also seem to be pooing less on laxatives than when not. I also get lots of fresh blood (from fissures and Hemroids). I have been to the doctors to solve these, but they are constantly reoccurring. Also, when it feels like something is moving in my stomach, it feels like im being stabbed. Day to today, my stomach is constantly bloated and rock-solid, and I have such a heavy feeling in my stomach. I sometimes get a dropping feeling, which is followed by prolonged pain.
Has anybody had similar symptoms to this, and was it because it was in your bowel? Does anybody have any tips to deal with this?

Hello I have your problems which is new symptoms for me as I use to be able to go to the toilet quite a lot and have diarrhoea. Now it’s the opposite. I can feel the bowel moving. It’s painful to have a bowel movement, it’s excruciating, I am also in pain afterwards. I have adenomyosis and just had an MRI scan, doctor said nothing visible from that but did say that a laparoscopy would detect things that an MRI couldn’t. I will watch your post to see what others recommend.
Sending a hug as it’s so painful 💛 sorry I can’t add anything of benefit xx
Hi I had endo on my bowel and symptoms were trapped wind, stomach pain , constipation and blood in my stool.
I was taking laxatives everyday to help with this. Also making sure that I was hydrated was my biggest thing to help. It made such a difference.
I ended up having my colon removed as my endo was so advanced but it can be different for everyone. But since my op i havent had any of those symptoms so im certain that it was because of the endo on my bowel.
So sorry to hear your suffering. All your symptoms sound very familiar and I had severe rectovaginal endo at lap including on my rectum. Removed my BSGE specialist. It was not seen on MRI done without contrast or bowel prep at normal DGH gynae hospital.
I was having to take loads of laxatives despite stools being soft. 2-3 months post the op and with some pelvic floor physio help I was pooping normally and without needing any laxatives!! Such an amazing relief. I’ve also found advice to use a Squatty Potty ( you can buy on Amazon) by my pelvic floor physio post op amazing - wish I’d know when I was struggling pre op with my bowel.
oh and fybogel was awful for me. It just made my stools bulkier and so even more painful to pass. I eat loads of healthy fibre etc so not my problem. I found Dulcoease and laxido best for me. But everyone will be different.
Peppermint tea helps a bit with bloating.
I do find that gluten and lactose free helps as well as low FODMAP foods diet.
