hi all, I had a laparoscopy in the middle of January with an endo and adenomyosis diagnosis and excision as well as insertion of the mirena coil.
For the past two weeks or so I’ve been getting really intense pelvic pains. It seems to come in waves almost like cramps but is really painful around the pelvis and a little bit of lower abdomen. Sometimes feels like a pushing pain. I’m just wondering if this is something I need to get checked out or if it will settle. Happens randomly but also after eating - it was confirmed in the surgery that my endo has affected my bowels so thinking it may be to do with that, or could it be the coil?
If anyone has experienced similar or spoke to a doctor about this, I’d really appreciate any advice as it is causing me a lot of discomfort.

Hi Jessiah. I had a laparoscopy around a similar time to you, and I'm still experiencing a substantial amount of pain. I actually emailed the endo nurse that works with my surgeon yesterday to check out whether this is normal, and am waiting to hear back from her. I think when something is worrying you, it's always worth getting it checked out. If you've got a contact number for follow up queries at the hospital you had your surgery at, it might be worth starting there, or your consultant's secretary.
I do wonder if the pain is partly the adeno (which is still there) alongside the pain while my body repairs itself following my endo/cyst/fibroid excision. I note that you also have adeno so it could be the same for you? It's really hard to know what is causing the most pain when there are several things going on at once and you don't have everything removed (I opted not to have a hysterectomy in the hope that this would be enough to deal with my pain).
