Since having the hystoscopy in August I have had at period time a funny Sensation to the left of my belly button. It feels numb but when my clothes touch it it's a funny Sensation that I can't describe. Does anyone else have this?

Hi, this sounds like it could be neuropathy (nerve damage). I've had it since surgery in between 2 incisions, also to the left of my belly button. It was super painful to the touch, but now feels numb/tingly/weird. Apparently it can take 6-12 months to clear up. I'm 11 months post op & it's still there. If it's painful they can prescribe amitriptyline for it, but I didn't try this myself. Hope that's helpful!
Thank you so much for replying it's not painful it's just odd isn't it, I had the small op in August it's funny since then my scar from belly button to lower abdomen is numb again too . They made quite a mess of my legs at the side think if was very tight to get the camera etc in. Feel much better for hour information thank you so much.
That's ok, I know it can be worrying when you don't know what's wrong! You could let you GP know, just so they're aware, especially if it's a large area. Not sure if they can do anything, I was just told "sounds like neuropathy" by the surgeon & been left to get on with it, but I also haven't pushed for anything. Hope yours gets better soon!
Thank you so much I feel much better knowing what it is. I've given up on the GP and Consultants the information is so mixed. It's confusing. Although it feels very odd and a bit sickening I can cope with it compared to all the other pain. Hope you get help and things settle for you. Thank you again. X
