After waiting for years, I finally have a laparoscopy booked for weds (31st Jan) to prove I have endo and have the mirina coil fitted. I have just realised I am due on my period any day now which means I will be on for the op 😫 please can someone tell me this won’t make a difference and I don’t have to postpone.

thank you

Hi, don't worry, I had my period at my last surgery and it was not a problem.

Hi, I've just had a laparoscopy on 15th Jan and I was on my period and it wasn't a problem. The doctor actually said that being on my period would make it easier to see endometriosis as it will be bleeding!

Oh I had mine in 2018 during my lap before last. I was sooooo heavy and passing clots. I had to wear a massive maternity type pad down to theatre and just take my knickers and pad off last minute. The nurses were lovely about it. Just tell them if you are on on the day and I'm sure they will look after you. All the best for your opp and diagnosis
