Firstly please let me apologise. I've googled and looked up answers before having to come on here and ask for answer/advice. ðŸ˜
I had a coil fitted after a laparoscopy to remove Endo. All has been okay however a week or so ago whilst having sex I felt my husband "hit" it and had a sharp pain. Although I haven't felt much discomfort since (yay) everytime we have sex I do feel like he's "hitting" it and he's getting swelling afterwards. It goes down quickly and doesn't hurt him much just a bit uncomfy. Just so happens to be the same place every time!!!
Random but has this ever happened to anyone before, I've said I will go and see the nurse but trying to get into see them in my surgery takes some time.

Hi! Hope your surgery went well and you had a fairly smooth recovery!
I also had the coil fitted recently after my surgery although me and my partner haven’t had sex yet. The coil is very new to me but from what my doctor explained, other than the thread you shouldn’t be able to feel it.
I’ve read the sometimes partners can feel the threads when they’re in there but you can get the thread trimmed if it bothers you or them. If it feels like he’s hitting it and then getting some swelling, it’s possible the coil is sitting too low?
I find I can’t reach mines to check, but there’s a good video from the NHS on how to check your coil is in place, so maybe give that a watch and see if you can feel for it. If it feels off or you aren’t sure, I’d recommend booking an emergency appointment.
I did that the other week as I had a panic attack that I couldn’t feel my coil threads, the gp checked and could see them and let me know it was still correctly placed. If you can’t get to see your gp, is there a local sexual health clinic you could go to? X
Recovery went well! Was my 2nd Lap so alot learned from the first one.
I think I'll try and get it checked out especially as I've been bleeding after wiping the last few days and some slight pains in my side. It's a nightmare trying to get a GP appointment here, we have to go through online first and I find it difficult to explain what's happening (especially as most of the people who work there can put a name to a face).
