I’ve recently started the injections for menopause. I have been suffering really badly with extremely achy bones. Does anyone have any advice of things to help with this x

temporary menopause
Hi Red476, I had this! I couldn't really explain to anyone how it felt except to say, as you did, that my bones ache! I found that unfortunately the best options were the standard, hot bath, tens machine and hot water bottle ( sorry I don't have any more tips!), but I just wanted to say that it does go away! So just hang in there it will get better 💛
How long ago was the first one and are you on HRT?
Ahead of my laparoscopy I had to take Zoladex for one year which put me into temporary menopause and I experienced the same thing. I took Vitamin D tablets as suggested by my GP and most of the pain went away quite quickly after that. So talk to your GP and see what they recommend and maybe also some diet changes, like more calcium. The bone pain was terrible. I hope it goes away soon.
yes, it was particularly frustrating for me as I am very much into keeping fit. Muscle pain I am used to, but throwing in bone pain which for me for quite a dull pain and mostly in my shoulders (same as trying to lift a kettle with sore wrists when trying to lift anything!) and back and wouldn't go away was awful. I hope there is something your doctor can suggest to you that helps. I am often cautious about the remedies suggested by doctors because of the side effects...
Same here on Prostap after the 2nd 3month injection I got achy bones and joints and I’d taken up skipping as weight baring excercise but it made my bones hurt to exercise so I came off the injection after 6 months. Didn’t cope with the add back HRT so just wanted to save my bones really at that point. Was not warned about that side effect or the mental slump that happened in month 1 . Vitamin C fizz tablet drinks with zinc and magnesium in definitely helped X
