Temporary bowel blockage feeling

Hi everyone💗

has anyone ever experienced like a blocked bowel feeling, nothing will move? The only relief is vomiting and then pain is relieved.

Bowel isn't blocked though as still having bowel movements. Had a lot of bowel endo in the past and then a hysterectomy 5 years ago but this keeps happening. Used to happen before hysterectomy but not as much, happening frequently now.

Any advice appreciated that I'm not crazy and that this could be endo....again :(

Hi, I would probably go and get checked out especially if you are being sick. I had a fecal impaction at Christmas in my bowel but was still going to toilet a tiny bit. It was painful.

My brother however has had a bowel blockage because of adhesions which became life threatening and he was vomiting.

If anything get checked for piece of mind. Hope you feel better soon x

Hi Littlebirdy,

I am sorry to hear you also suffered from Fecal Impaction. This is something I am currently going through and haven’t had a natural bowel movement since last year! I’ve been surving on private colonics which are becoming less effective and the only treatment the hospital are giving me are endless amounts of laxatives which are not working. I also have a slow transit and have a SNS fitted and my battery had died which is why I’m in this situation.

Any advise on how you were treated would be appreciated.

Thank you

Dani

Hello,

I managed to clear mine with several types of laxatives but I did exceed the stated dose to do this (my sister in law works in the hospital pharmacy) and she advised this would be ok for the initial clearing. It took over 24 hours for any movement. Mine was due to taking a lot of medication and showed a 10cm impacted area. Yours sounds a lot trickier, have they said what's causing it? Sorry I can't be much help x

Thank you for your response, none the wiser to why I’m in this situation. Hoping after an appointment this Saturday I should no more. I’m trying all the laxatives but haven’t had any luck :(

Oh no how awful for you. Could it be something you're eating, maybe an intolerance.

Laxido seemed to help me along with several doses of lactulose.

The pain where it's impacted is so bad too so I really feel for you. Hopefully they can help on Saturday.

I had food intolerance tests years ago which is when I was diagnosed with slow transit constipation. It’s when your nerves don’t work properly in your bowel. Not sure if this has just become a lot worse of whether there is something other. It’s the not knowing that’s hard as you don’t know what’s to do for the best.

Last week the hospital gave me a double dose of moviprep which didn’t work and over the weekend I have done;

8x sachets of movicol per day

2x senokot per day

2x Dioctyl per day

15ml of lactulose 3times a day

1x Linaclotide (with food has more chance to cause diarrhoea)

2x Enema per day

I spoke to the hospital and they said to go back down on this morning. I collected something called Gastrografin which is their last resort before I can see a colorectal surgeon... I don’t think I can drink sambuca ever again. It’s like the poison version! I had to down the whole medicine bottle and my throat was burning. But I would have done that 100 times over if it done the trick. I was told it takes an hour to work, I took it at 11am and still NOTHING!

Oh gosh and nothing has worked, I feel for you so much. When I was at the hospital having the x-ray the doctor printed off information about a fruit that was really good and worked very well. I'll have a think and see if I can remember what it's called.

Definitely sounds like more is going on, do they think you could have endo on your bowels? X
