I just don’t know how much more I can take

I’ve always had problems with my periods since being a teenager. I first went to the doctors around 18 and was dismissed. I’m now 36 and finally got a diagnosis of adenomyosis (via MRI scan) and endometriosis. I’ve had the surgery to do excision and I’ve bled non stop since.

Yesterday I thought I was finally stopping and today while out with my family I lost a blood clot that almost resembled the size of a fist. The pain and nausea alone is enough to make someone cry. I just don’t know how to cope. My surgeon says he wants to go back to combined contraception but as I get migraines with aura my GP said no and I just don’t know what I can do. I don’t feel like this is any semblance of a life.

I’m miserable and im constantly in pain. Today I’m just feeling hopeless. It’s taking all I have not to cry. I just don’t know what to do

Hello I couldn’t read and run.

I also have adeno and endo, one of my biggest problems is bleeding through my pad, clothes, pants, it’s devastating especially if I am out, it sends me into a panic. It’s not normal to live like this.

I had 2 endometrial ablations which help for around a year (some women have a more positive experience for so much longer), I am also on tranexamic acid and northisterone which clots the blood and helps to stop the heavy bleeding,

You will probably need to get your iron levels checked too, if you have lost a lot of blood.

I use the night pads as the blood rolls down my bum, big clots when I stand up, I know how you feel. How can a body do all of this? 🤮🤢

I was at a wedding and bled through my dress in the summer. It’s mortifying. I’ve been wfh constantly because my employer knows what’s happening and I’m terrified to go in incase issues like that happen while in the office.

Mentally I’m just exhausted. I’m on iron tablets already for anaemia and I also have b12 injections for pernicious anaemia. I’m on the nexplanon implant and norithestrone tablets and it’s not helping at all. I just need it to stop. I really can’t keep doing this day in and day out

So sorry to hear that, have you also tried the tranexamic acid tablets?

I always have to wear dark bottoms, paranoid when bleeding x

Yep. They made things worse so I was taken off them and switched to what I’m on now.

Initially it worked but now it’s not. Haven’t stopped bleeding since 6th October. I’m beyond exhausted now x

I'm the same x hello guys. Flooded last night even with a huge pad on I need to wash the sheets. I can't go out or exercise. Work is a nightmare. It causes chronic stress because it's so unpredictable and you just wear black all the time. I'm going on to zoladex on the 29th December which I'm hoping will help. It's not ideal but as I can't have a hysterectomy I'm desperate. I'm anaemic too which is so awful. I pass clots that resemble organs too Kierface -it's the lining of the womb but it's traumatic and it panics you. I also think losing so much blood suddenly has an impact on blood sugar as I go extremely tired and hungry. Could you try zoladex or prostrap? Could you opt for a hysterectomy (you don't mention a family). I was on provera continuously and estrogen gel which I thought was finally working, but I started bleeding 10 days ago and it has got worse and worse. It makes you depressed x

I’m so sorry you’re going through this sunset lady.

I don’t want a hysterectomy just yet as me and my partner want a kid next year or the year after. I think I may stop everything and see what natural is like xx

Hi Kiera, I really feel for you. After my last surgery I bled from August to February. I kept leaking as well as it would get worse the more I did. I re-started the depo injection in September but I’m not sure if that’s what cleared it up.

I also get migraines and take 80mg of propranolol a day to help. This also helps with my anxiety symptoms.

I hope the review goes well for you and you start to feel better soon.

Thanks. I was having a really low day yesterday. I burst into tears in the evening and proper worried my partner. Felt really bad but just needed to let it out. My bleeding seemed to slow down today but came back with a vengeance this evening. Feeling very tired. Hopefully get some answers tomorrow evening. I hope the depo keeps your bleeding at bay! X
