HEADACHE and endo

Hello,

I have endo and sure it’s returned as getting endo belly and cyclical pain despite being on the coil. I have tried taking additional hormones (4 different ones) but I find the side effects too awful. I am getting a severe and debilitating headache in a cyclical pattern and really struggling, is there anything to take just for a few days around when the pain will be at its worse? Like a progesterone pill you can take just for a few days not the whole month, or a cream or something. It’s defo hormone related and it just flaws me every month. Hurts across the front of my head like a migraine and into my ears. I take supplements, vitamins, have the coil fitted, don’t eat much sugar, gluten or dairy but I’m still struggling. Any help much appreciated

I have tried everything migraine preventatives etc but nothing helps. I'm currently using zomitriptan for migraine and I use aspirin too. Mine are with my cycle but worse with oestrogen.

Hi, I've just been prescribed Frovatriptan to take as a preventive for migraine during my period. My migraines usually start towards the end of my period so I've been told to start taking it on day 3 for 4 days. I don't know how effective it'll be yet. I already have Botox as a preventive & take Naratriptan or a high dose of codeine during an attack (I was taking naproxen that now causes gastric pain!) Naratriptan is a good treatment if you haven't tried triptans before. Just be careful with frequency - no more than 2-3 tablets a week, no more than 10 a month, as it can cause migraines as a withdrawal. Codeine can also cause worsen headaches so also something to be aware of. Otherwise I was also recommended estrogen supplements to be taken 1 week before my period at 2 pumps a day, & whilst on period at 1 pump a day, but that was before my endometriosis diagnosis & I'm not sure what the indications might be there as I know estrogen can cause endo to worsen. My endo specialist hasn't been very helpful with the cyclical migraine, so I'm still dealing with those via neurology/pain management clinic. It's also worth noting that the hormonal coil can cause headaches unfortunately ☹️
